About
Healy is located about 100 miles south of Fairbanks and 250 miles north of Anchorage on the George Parks Highway. Though its winter population is just under 1000 people, it also serves the neighboring communities of McKinley Village, Cantwell, and Anderson.
Usibelli Coal Mine, the Power Plant, Clear Spare Force Station, and Denali National Park are the main employers the area. Healy has a Three Bears grocery store, Ace Hardware, NAPA Auto Parts, bank, post office, K-12 school, preschool, and library. However, residents must travel to Fairbanks or Anchorage for other services.
